More of the same, except a larger portion of the zone is friendly. So finding a camp could be tough depending on your chosen servers population and the hour of day. ALTERNATIVES: Hills of Shade(78-85)(PoK>Steamfont Mnts>Loping Plains>Hills of Shade) - This place is heaven for paladins and might be faster for them than Ashengate. NOTE: Doing the progression for Call of the Forsaken and The Broken Mirror will net you some incredible rewards. 13-28 Estate of Unrest (PoK>Butcherblock Mountains>Dagnor's Cauldron>Unrest) - This is a good place for undead killers, but in my opinion the run out to it is too far and the exp is better in Blightfire. There is a little city area as well on the far side of the canyon that is a good place to set up as well. (Test server people should average 37%.) 48-62 - The Hole (Ruins of Old Paineel)(PoK>Paineel>The Hole) - I used to recommend this as a go to zone, but the ZEM got nerfed and it's not as good. Watch out for the nameds. Entire house is pretty much open at 26. Balanced: This stance is exactly how it sounds. Chapterhouse of the Fallen (96-100)(PoK>Freeport>Commonlands or Once you do attunement quest from Shard's Landing, Guild Hall>TP to Shard's Landing>Portal to Chapterhouse) - I love this zone as a paladin. What i mean is if you do Field of Scale, you'll have the rank IV merc, not the III or II. Sadly neither zone is a hot zone. In addition, they are packed together. There is another soldier camp down here in the dead center south of the zone, by the Sarith zoneline. AFK/Mercenary Leveling Guide for Everquest Levels 1-85 This is a guide dedicated to leveling your character automatically while either fully AFK or partially AFK. At 65 I like to head up to the second levels and kill the higher level guys there. You should easily average about 25% of an AA for each of the light blue mobs while at the South or North Camp. It's the only level range I feel that you should be here to the exclusion of anywhere else. Hearthstone Mercenaries Leveling Guide - Fastest Leveling Up It isn't the fastest ever, but the money is pretty great and there is rarely anyone here on live. When do I have to upgrade him? As of the Terror of Luclin expansion, the best mercenary equipment is "Vigilant", which is obtained in The Burning Lands zones. The key issue is that there are gobs of wandering mobs. That said, some of the zones have been made hot zones. The mobs hit very hard and you can get overwhelmed very quickly. Hearthstone Mercenaries Ultimate Guide - Hearthstone Top Decks - The I can't think of many places where the time taken to get there and get setup to afk xp wouldn't have been better spent just killing or questing for regular xp then logging out. They are in the places where the guards used to be. BEST: 28-(35-45) Lower Guk (PoK>Innothule Swamp>Upper Guk>Lower Guk) - Head down to the dead side. You can stay here until you reach level 77. You can conceivably go to 80, but it slows down and there is better exp to be had elsewhere. Erudin also has a LOT of undead which are very concentrated in a few areas, making Paladin swarming much easier as well. This expansion introduced Mercenaries and basically completely changed the way you level in Everquest. They hit like trucks and run though, so bring a snare. The mob density is incredible and you can clear the first three levels of the tower at a breakneck speed. Roughly 80% of the mobs are rootable and headshottable so this is a really nice zone for AAing with a ranger. After that though it's single pulls non stop. If you dont want to deal with killing them, run down until you see the trees and start killing mosstrooper treants. The easiest armor sets to get will probably be the sets from Hardcore Heritage. I played a cleric for 9 years until I finally left. This access to at least 2 nameds that I am aware of. Nameds drop a pretty good belt and necklace. I honestly think it's kinda trash because either you're killing "relatively weak" classified mobs or the creatures just have too many HP, but from 30-35 it's ok. It's very simple and zone is your oyster beyond that. Since I see a lot of people asking where do I level or is this a good spot for leveling at X, I thought I would jot down this leveling guide. So I will continue making changes as I see what works best and for who. They don't hit excessively hard and are very good exp from 68-74. Wall of Slaughter has repop time of 10 minutes and 40 seconds. They are however allowed into LDoN's. There are three nameds you can kill here for a good variety of loot. There are four types of Mercs to choose from: Healing, Tanking, Rogue or a Wizard mercs. In comparison to their equivalent in Underfoot, the mobs are vastly easier. Start off killing drakes, snakes, and spiders. Also stay away from the center bottom left of the zone. Mob HP is ridiculously low since this is a vanilla zone and these levels go by without much attention having to be paid. After about 12 though, you can speed things up immensely if you're fighting with your tank merc and he can hold aggro way better after 10. Once you are 75, start murdering Giants. Also the mercenary will cost the same amount he would to the level that you shrouded to. The westside is still gangster though, so you can kill most of the stuff there. You should be able to walk out of here with a very serviceable weapon for your class, the majority of spells and abilities, and armor in almost every single slot. So there is a level 75 vendor, 80, 85, 90 and so on. Unless you're 4 boxing or uber twinked, killing these will take some time, but about 3 kills will take you from 20 to 21. Q: Can I give my mercenary weapons and armor similar to a pet? You can box here, but the zone isn't very conducive to it. Korascian Warrens(82-87)(PoK>Talk to Herald of Druzzil Ro to TP to Plane of Time>Walk around the pillar and click on glowy portal to The Void>Toskirakk>Korascian Warrens) - I used to enjoy leveling here quite a bit. Start in the tunnels and then work your way through the area around the ghoul assassin. Moloing is effective in the early levels due to overpowered Tank Mercs, but starting in the 60s leveling takes longer and the Tank Merc becomes less overpowered versus the content. A NOTE ON GEAR: If you do not go through the Mines and get your tutorial set, I recommend spending any money you can get your hands on for some Simple or Rough Defiant gear. I'M NOT QUITE READY FOR EOK/ROS (100-105) - This is very much dependent on gear and group. Owning any current expansion will also unlock these features. I dont recommend using one ever unless you know the class to begin with) a questline was added in Feerott, the Dream that unlocks all ranks of Journeyman Mercenaries. Best thing about this zone is the simplicity of getting to it. This area is great if you're a paladin as you can slay the undead and stun out the worst of the damage from the Erudite necromancers. They hit a lot harder and have a lot of HP, so if you have trouble go back to spiders and other critters until 76-77. All of the nameds are completely unlinked from the other mobs. HEROIC ADVENTURES BEGIN AKA THE MOST REPETITIVE THING TO DO IN A GAME THAT IS ALREADY REPETITIVE ENOUGH(75-110)(BOX/GROUP REQUIRED): You can begin doing HAs at 75 IF YOU BOX OR HAVE A GROUP (Yes some classes can solo them, but thats the exception rather than the rule and requires a lot of know how). My next endeavor is to actually give Underfoot and Seeds of Destruction another run through and see if there are any additionally effective areas there I missed.
